I’ve always liked Yamaha clarinets and this one is no exception. The Yamaha YCL-650 is a professional clarinet made from grenadilla wood. It has a fully integrated bell and barrel design, blue-steel needle springs for fast and responsive action, and an adjustable thumbrest. The keywork is well made, the action feels nice under the fingers, and it has lots of clarity. Actually the keys are silver-plated. The Buffet Crampon R13 Greenline is a clarinet made with a proprietary wood and polycarbonate composite. It has the same intonation and response as its wooden counterpart, but is more durable and can withstand extreme changes in temperature and humidity.
