Yamaha YAS-26 Alto Sax (Student Model)
In my opinion the YAS-26 is one of the best student model saxes on the market today. They sound great, they play well in tune with themselves and they are easy to work on. Any band director is going to be happy that you’re beginning band student is playing this sax. As usual, I’ve adjusted it, oiled it and played it myself and it plays like a new instrument. I have included a Selmer S-80 C* mouthpiece, ligature, mouthpiece cap & a neck strap. Buy a few reeds and you’re ready to go. I just Googled the current price for this sax and brand new they are selling for $2729.00!!!

Yamaha YAS-480 Alto Sax (Intermediate Model)
If you are wanting to step-up from your student model instrument then this could be your new sax. This sax looks like it has never been played. I still looked it over and did a few minor adjustments. Of course it comes with a mouthpiece, neck strap and even an unopened owners manual. The case is also pristine and has “hide away” shoulder straps in case you want to carry it on your back. I just checked the price of this instrument brand new and it’s slightly less than $3000.00! I’m selling this particular sax for $2200.00 which is a great price for an instrument in this outstanding condition.

Selmer SAS-711B Alto Sax (Professional Model)
This is one of the nicest looking and playing horns that I have seen in quite a while. It appears to have never been played. A truly pristine instrument from top to bottom and it plays perfectly meaning, I didn’t have to do a thing to it, which is rare. This Selmer SAS711B Alto Saxophone is the result of a collaboration between Selmer Paris and Selmer USA on an entry-level professional model saxophone. The body is made by Selmer USA, and the mouthpiece and solid silver neck are made by Selmer Paris. The engraving on the horn is modeled after Mark VI engraving. I can’t show it in a single photo but there is engraving, obviously, on the bell & bow of the instrument and on the back of the instrument too. In case you can’t tell from the photo this sax is black nickel-plated with silver plated keys & key guards. Where the hand engraving was done on the body there are hints of brass showing through. It’s really quite impressive, I think! The sax is padded with Pisoni Pro leather pads which are very durable. Plus, the sax comes in a BAM case which is also pristine and very sturdy. In some places I’ve seen this particular model sell for as much as $3700.00! So, my price of $2900.00 is a tremendous deal. Call me at 434-973-4299 to tryout this gem.

Yamaha YAS-62III Alto Sax (Professional Model)
I just played this horn for the past 30 minutes, or so, and I like it. I like the sound and I think it plays very well in tune with itself. As is my standard MO, mode of operation, I disassembled it and cleaned the instrument from stem to stern. I replaced all the pads, all 25 of them. Then I regulated it and adjusted it so it plays as well as it did when it was new. I also played it with a tuner in front of me and regulated the key height. Plus, I put it into a Millennium hard shell case made by Humes & Berg Company. It’s a very nice, compact case that is light and sturdy. This is one of Yamaha’s top of the line saxes and brand new this alto sells for $4000.00! I’m selling it for $3000.00 which is a great deal considering that I just completely repadded it and it’s a great quality instrument. Come by the shop, bring your mouthpiece and give it a try. I think you’ll be impressed with this sax.

Yamaha YTS-23 Tenor Sax (Student Model)
Of course, I like Yamaha saxes, and this one is certainly an outstanding tenor sax for any beginner of any age. Or, if you have a nicer sax that you use in concert band or symphonic band and you don’t want to use it in a marching band setting, then this could be your horn. I just finished disassembling it and doing a complete overhaul on it meaning, everything was cleaned plus I changed all the pads & all the corks, which are numerous. This means that it plays as well as when it was new. I have included a Selmer C* mouthpiece, ligature, mouthpiece cap with it, a neck strap and I put it in a better case than it originally came in. The new version of this sax, the YTS-26, now sells for $3200.00 to over $3400.00 brand new.

Selmer "TS-44" Tenor Sax (Pro-Model)
This is Selmer’s entry level professional model tenor sax. The body is made by Selmer USA and the neck is made by Selmer Paris. An interesting fusion of two different segments of the Selmer company. Some of the exceptional features of this instrument that I like are, the low C, low B & low Bb keys all have double arms supporting the keys. This keeps the keys steady and they don’t need to be leveled as often. The sax sports some nice engraving on the bell and bow of the horn. Very hip looking, I think. I also like the factory pads which are Pisoni pads. They all look good as new. Actually, the horn looks like it was played very little plus, it comes in a BAM case which is much nicer than your average stock case. I have included neck strap, a mouthpiece and I put a Vandoren ligature and mouthpiece cap on the MP. Definitely an improvement from the factory ligature. It almost looks like a new horn. Actually, this horn sells for over $3200.00 brand new so, $2800.00 for a sax in this condition is a tremendous deal. Frankly, new student model saxes sell for more than $2800.00. Call my shop at 434-973-4299 and schedule an appointment to tryout this horn.

King "2416" Tenor Sax (Pro-Model)
This sax was made in 1981 during the time when the great King “Super 20 Silver Sonic” saxes were still being made. King decided to made a version of the “Super 20” that didn’t have all the bling, no mother of pearl inlaid keys and no engraving. So, for all intents and purposes this is a late model King “Super 20”. I disassembled it, cleaned it and did a complete repad on it. Consequently, it plays like a new horn and it has that big powerful sound of a “Super 20”.

Selmer "Super Action 80 II" Tenor Sax (Pro-Model)
This outstanding tenor was made circa 1996 and was Selmer’s “Top of the Line” tenor sax at that time. As is the norm, I cleaned it, adjusted it and now it plays like new. Plus, it’s in pristine condition! It’s hard to find a horn of this caliber in this condition. It also comes in its original hard shell case with a naugahyde case cover, which are both in equally good condition. If you have an aspiring saxophonist that is looking for a Pro-Model instrument then this could be your sax.

Cannonball 98 Knight Alto Sax (Pro Model) SOLD
I don’t see Cannonball saxes as often as I do other brands, but I like these horns. This alto was actually made in 1998, hence the name, but it looks like a much newer instrument. Apparently, it was well taken care of. As is my normal mode of operation, I completely disassembled the horn, cleaned out all the DNA from the previous owner then I reassembled, adjusted, regulated and oiled it so, now it plays like a brand-new sax. The main body of the horn and the keys are lacquered brass, but the neck and the bell are silver plated. I think it gives the sax a very “cool” appearance. Plus, the instrument is covered with lots of engraving like the bell, the key guards, the back of the horn, etc. You have to see it to really appreciate it. Of course, the original case, which is in great condition, is included. You don’t see a sax of this caliber, at this price very often. Come give it a try.

Selmer Reference 54 Alto Sax (Professional Model) SOLD
I have been using the word pristine a lot lately, because I have been acquiring several new-ish, very nice instruments. But if I had to pick just one sax to call pristine, this would be it. This is a 2018 Selmer Ref 54 alto sax that really looks like it has never been played. It has dark gold lacquer, and it plays great! Not a mark of any kind on the horn or on the case. Truely pristine! The new version of this sax sells for over $7500.00. So, I am selling this alto for $3500.00 which is absolutely a great deal for a sax of this caliber and condition.
Price: $3500.00

Yamaha "YTS 62" Tenor Sax (Professional Model) SOLD
A great pro-model tenor sax. This sax appears to have been played very little, and it was well taken care of. It still has the owner’s manual, and the original cleaning cloth which was never taken out of its bag from the factory. I just finished going over it, adjusting it, changing a few pads, oiling the keys, etc., etc., etc. All this means that the sax plays as good as new. It comes with its original 4C mouthpiece plus, a G1 neck which is a great upgrade. The neck alone costs almost $300.00! It also comes in its original case which is in like new condition. The new version of this instrument sells for around $4000.00. Come give it a try. Call me at the shop, 434-973-4299 and schedule an appointment.

Selmer "TS-44" Tenor Sax (Professional Model) SOLD
This Selmer “TS-44” is a brand new instrument. Do not be fooled by its initial appearance. This is a collaboration between Selmer “Paris” and Selmer “USA”. Selmer “USA” made the umlacquered body and Selmer”Paris” made the solid silver neck. Since the body is unlacquered the brass has oxidized which gives it its “patina” appearance. Once again, its a brand new horn. Plus, it comes in a BAM case which is a step-up from the normal style case. The BAM case has 2 standard handles and it comes with backstraps that can be stowed away when not in use. Selmer considers this their “entry Level Pro-Model tenor. This is a great horn for the price.
